Austin Florian, an Olympic skeleton racer from Southington, set a track record with mixed doubles partner Mystique Ro Sunday at the Winter Olympics in Italy.

Florian and Ro, who won the world championship in the event last year, finished the race in 2:00.39 at the Cortina Sliding Center.

But there were still a number of teams left to slide, including men’s gold medalist Matt Weston of Great Britain and his relay partner Tabitha Stoecker, who finished fifth in the women’s singles.

In the end, six other teams also broke the course record after Florian and Ro did it. Florian and Ro finished seventh; Weston and Stoecker won the gold with a time of 1:59.36.

Florian finished 12th in the individual skeleton on Friday in his first Olympic Games.
