Tired of the cold weather? You might want to avert your eyes.
The National Weather Service has issued an extreme cold watch for all of Northern Connecticut, running from Saturday evening through Sunday afternoon with “wind chills as low as 20 to 25 below zero possible.”
“The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 20 to 25 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes,” according to the National Weather Service.
The protocol coincides with the state’s severe cold weather protocol, which is still in effect after being extended through Tuesday, Feb. 10, according to Gov. Ned Lamont’s office.
CT extends severe cold weather protocol. It’s the longest stretch since 2015
