Police have charged a man and woman in connection with a fatal shooting in Meriden.

Aren Scott, 28, and Dovone Still, 21, were arrested in Milford on Saturday in connection with the death of 22-year-old man on Jan. 19, according to Sgt. Michael Boothroyd of the Meriden Police Department.

On Jan. 19, officers were dispatched to the area of Cook Avenue and Summer Street around 12:03 p.m. on a report of a person who had been shot, Boothroyd said.

Arriving officers located a man, identified as 22-year-old Deron Johnson, suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Officers immediately initiated life-saving measures before transporting Johnson to Mid-State Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, according to Boothroyd.

After an extensive investigation, following up on multiple leads, police identified Scott and Still as two suspects in the incident, Boothroyd said.
