CT man found dead, was last seen aboard a docked boat

A Stonington man was found dead on Sunday morning in the area of the Stonington Town Dock, authorities said.

The man was reported missing at 11 p.m. and found at the Stonington Town Dock. Authorities have not publicly released the man’s name at this time.

“The missing individual is a 54-year-old male Stonington resident who was last known to be aboard a docked commercial fishing vessel,” according to the Stonington Police Department. “At this time, there does not appear to be anything suspicious related to this incident,”

Among the agencies that assisted on the scene included, the Stonington Police Department, Pawcatuck, Yantic, Old Mystic, Stonington and Westerly fire departments. Also assisting on the scene were Stonington Ambulance Association, United States Coast Guard, Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, Connecticut State Police Emergency Services Unit and Providence Canteen.

“The Stonington Police Department would like to thank all assisting agencies and volunteers for their prompt response and assistance during this search,” Stonington Police Department said.
