Police and fire officials are investigating a house fire in Bristol that left one man hospitalized in critical condition on Thursday.
The Bristol Police Department, along with the Bristol Fire Department, responded to a structure fire on Mitchell Street around 2:34 p.m. on Thursday, according to police.
Firefighters located a 61-year-old unresponsive man on the second floor of the home, police said. He was removed from the residence by Bristol Fire Department personnel.
Life-saving measures were initiated before he was transported to an area hospital where he was listed in critical condition on Thursday night, according to police.
Police said the cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Bristol Police and Fire Departments.
