An injured and emaciated dog was found abandoned in East Hartford in the cold on Friday morning.
The animal was hypothermic and unable to put weight on one of his front legs when he was found in Dwyer Park, according to East Hartford Animal Control.
The dog also had open infected wounds, animal control said.
“He is safe now and under the care of our amazing vet, however this did not happen overnight,” animal control wrote in a Facebook post. “This dog has been neglected for a long time and someone must have seen something.”
Anyone with information about the dog or its owner has been asked to contact East Hartford Animal Control at 860-291-7572 and leave a message.
