A juvenile was shot in Hamden on Wednesday when multiple people opened fire on a residence, police said.
Officers responded to a report of gunfire in the Bowen Street area at 8:50 p.m. and found a juvenile who was suffering from gunshot wounds to his legs, according to Lt. Robert Manfield of the Hamden Police Department.
The boy was taken in an ambulance to Yale New Haven Hospital and was listed in stable condition, Manfield said.
A preliminary investigation found that multiple unknown individuals took position in a driveway and fired several rounds into an occupied residence, Manfield said. The shooters then fled the area.
The police department’s Crime Scene Unit responded and processed the scene. The incident remains under investigation by detectives.
“There is no known ongoing threat to the public at this time,” Manfield said in a statement.
