Sacred Heart won its second straight national cheerleading championship over the weekend, taking home the title at the Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA) College Nationals.
The Pioneers placed first in the All-Girl Division 1 Game Day division.
The multi-day event began on Friday at Walt Disney World’s ESPN Wide World of Sports complex in Orlando, Fla. Competing against 30 teams, SHU captured a near-perfect 97.83 out of 100 points in their performance, taking home their sixth national title in seven years, all under head coach CJ Rodriguez.
“We are extremely proud of our student-athletes and honored to bring home our sixth national title,” Rodriguez said in a release. “They approach every moment with nothing but a good time, and it clearly shows on the national mat.”
Sacred Heart won its first title in 2020 in Division 1 All-Girl before following up with Open All-Girl Game Day national titles in 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2025. In 2024, SHU came within hundredths of a point of first and second places.
