CT man charged with fleeing crash in Farmington that left one person hospitalized

A Wethersfield man is facing charges after allegedly fleeing the scene of a crash with injuries in Farmington on Tuesday morning.

Officers responded to Route 177 in the area of Morea Road around 8:30 a.m. for a report of a motor vehicle crash involving a vehicle that struck a tree, according to the Farmington Police Department.

Arriving officers found a driver who was conscious and alert but required extrication, police said.

According to police, the driver was transported to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment. The extent of their injuries was unknown at this time.

The preliminary investigation determined that a second vehicle was involved and fled the scene. With the help of the Connecticut State Police, the vehicle was located in Burlington, police said.

Police said the driver of the evading vehicle was identified as 27-year-old Joseph Ringrose of Wethersfield. Ringrose was located, taken into custody and charged with evading responsibility and improper turn.
