As one of two undefeated programs left in Division I, the UConn women’s basketball team was voted the unanimous No. 1 team in the AP Top 25 for the second straight week.

The Huskies received all 30 first-place votes and extended their streak of 11 straight polls holding the top overall spot. The only other undefeated team remaining is No. 5 Vanderbilt, coached by former UConn standout Shea Ralph. Ralph, who was also an assistant coach for the Huskies from 2008-21, has led the Commodores to their best start in program history at 18-0 and their highest ranking in the AP poll since 2002.

Princeton, led by UConn alum Carla Berube, also moved up two spots this week to No. 20 for its highest ranking since 2015. The Tigers are the only mid-major team currently in the poll.

Hours before UConn was set to face Notre Dame at Gampel Pavilion on Monday, the rivalry game became an unranked matchup. The Fighting Irish fell out of the poll two weeks ago, then returned at No. 23 last week, but they dropped from the top 25 again Monday after losing 79-66 to No. 8 Louisville on Thursday. The last time UConn played an unranked Notre Dame team was in Dec. 2019, when the Huskies won 81-57.

UConn now holds three wins over top-10 opponents with Iowa moving up a place to No. 10, replacing Kentucky. The Wildcats dropped four spots to No. 11 following an upset by Mississippi State on Sunday. No. 7 Michigan and Louisville also both moved up a place this week. Ohio State, who the Huskies routed 100-68 on Nov. 16, jumped two spots to No. 12.

The last ranked matchup of the 2025-26 regular season for UConn will be against Tennessee on Feb. 1 in Hartford. The Lady Vols are 5-0 in SEC play and climbed three places this week to No. 17.
