A New Haven man has been convicted on a number of sexual assault charges after authorities say he repeatedly sexually assaulted two victims who were as young as 8 years old.

Brian Flores-Colon, 46, was found guilty of six counts of first-degree sexual assault and three counts of risk of injury to a minor, according to the state Division of Criminal Justice. The verdict was handed down Tuesday following a jury trial in New Haven Superior Court.

According to the DCJ, evidence presented at trial showed that two minor victims who are now adults were “repeatedly” sexually assaulted by Flores-Colon when they were between 8 and 16 years old. According to court records, the allegations took place between 2008 and 2014.

The accusations involving both victims were heard during one consolidated trial. The allegations were investigated by the New Haven Police Department.

Flores-Colon is being held on a $1 million bond. He is scheduled to face sentencing on March 24.
