A man accused of killing his neighbor when he allegedly fired a bullet that went through a wall in a townhouse in Danbury earlier this month turned himself in to police on Thursday.
David Grullon Jr., also known as “Davicito,” turned himself in on a warrant charging him with two counts of risk of injury to a minor and a single count of second-degree manslaughter, criminal possession of a pistol or revolver, illegal discharge of a firearm, second-degree breach of peace and first-degree reckless endangerment, according to the Danbury Police Department.
Police said the charges stem from an incident on Jan. 7 shortly before 8:40 p.m. when officers responded to the report of a shooting on Lake Avenue involving one person who was suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim, identified as 37-year-old Victor Quispe of Danbury, was rushed to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to police.
Police said their preliminary investigation found that a gun was shot from inside a townhouse. A single round went through the wall and struck Quispe who was in his home, according to police.
Two days after the shooting, police announced that they had obtained a warrant for Grullon, who had allegedly left the scene before officers arrived.
Grullon was held in lieu of a $1 million bond, which police said includes a gun-related bond enhancement. He was expected to face a judge on Friday.
Police on Friday said the incident remains under investigation. Additional details were not released to “protect the integrity of the case,” according to police.
