CT man found guilty in ‘violent’ sexual assault in front of child in Wallingford in 2023

A man has been found guilty of both sexually and physically assaulting someone in Wallingford in 2023 following a trial that consolidated the allegations to one case.

The trial took place in New Haven Superior Court where a jury returned a guilty verdict on Jan. 9 against 27-year-old Mark Lincoln of New Haven, according to the Division of Criminal Justice.

He was found guilty of first-degree sexual assault, risk of injury to a minor, first-degree unlawful restraint, third-degree assault and second-degree threatening, according to officials.

DCJ officials said the evidence showed that Lincoln sexually and physically abused an adult victim.

On Jan. 25, 2023, Wallingford Police Department officers responded to a call at about 9:30 p.m. and found a victim with visible injuries, police said. Further, After a preliminary investigation, it was also determined that a violent assault allegedly took place with a minor present, police said.

The department, working with the assistance of the Detective Division and the Community Impact Unit, located Lincoln and he was taken into custody, police said.

Court records show that Lincoln had three cases pending. According to the DCJ, the matters were consolidated to one trial.

Lincoln is being held on a $850,000 bond while he awaits sentencing, which is slated for March 18.
