A teenager has been sentenced to 10 years in prison in connection with a robbery in Hartford last spring that led to the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old.
Juliano Gonzalez, 17, faced sentencing on Tuesday in Hartford Superior Court where a judge ordered that he will be exposed to an additional 10 years behind bars while on probation, according to court records. His five-year probationary period will begin once he is released from prison.
The sentencing comes after Gonzalez took a plea deal in October, pleading guilty to charges of first-degree manslaughter with a firearm and first-degree robbery, according to court records. He had been charged with felony murder, weapons in a motor vehicle, carrying a pistol without a permit, conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery, first-degree larceny, illegal discharge of a firearm and interfering with police, according to the Hartford Police Department.
Gonzalez, who was 16 at the time of the shooting, and a 14-year-old were both arrested in connection with the killing of 17-year-old Shevron Wilson of Hartford.
Wilson was found unresponsive suffering from gunshot injuries when officers responded to the report of shots fired in the area of Wethersfield Avenue and Barker Street at 11:17 a.m. on April 13, 2025, police said. Police performed life-saving measures until medics arrived and took Wilson to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to police.

During the investigation, police said they identified a vehicle suspected to be involved in the shooting and were able to stop it in the area of Vine Street at Mather Street. Two juveniles fled the vehicle on foot and were apprehended after a brief foot pursuit, Boisvert said.
Gonzalez was later prosecuted as an adult.
Police said they believe the shooting occurred during a targeted robbery and that both the suspects knew Wilson.
The 14-year-old was arrested on charges of felony murder, weapons in a motor vehicle, conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery, first-degree larceny and interfering with police, according to police.
