State police are investigating a fatal head-on crash involving dump truck in Oxford on Thursday morning.
A dump truck driven by a 41-year-old Danbury man was traveling southbound on Oxford Road just north of Rich Farm as a Subaru Crosstrek was heading north in the same area, according to Connecticut State Police. At that time, the Subaru allegedly crossed into the southbound lane for an unknown reason and collided with the truck head on, state police said.
The Subaru driver, identified as 63-year-old Shari Sirkin of Stratford, was extricated by the Oxford Fire Department and transported to Waterbury Hospital by Oxford EMS where she was pronounced dead, according to state police.
The incident remains under investigation.
