Police have arrested a man in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash in Waterbury last month.
Dion Schontten, 23, of Waterbury was taken into custody on Wednesday at a probation appointment, according to Sgt. Joseph Morais of the Waterbury Police Department.
Morais said police had a warrant charging him with evading responsibility resulting in a death, tampering with physical evidence, misconduct with a motor vehicle and illegal operation of a motor vehicle under suspension. He was held on $100,000 bond and was expected to face a judge on Thursday.

According to Morais, police believe Schontten was the driver involved in a crash on Dec. 28 in the area of 410 Reidville Dr. where officers shortly before 9:15 p.m. on the report of a collision involving a pedestrian.
Officers found a pedestrian, later identified as 43-year-old Sabrina Starkey of Waterbury, down on the roadway suffering from facial trauma, Morais said. She was taken to a local hospital where she later died of her injuries.
The driver involved in the crash took off before police arrived.
