The West Hartford Fire Department contained and extinguished a structure fire Saturday night on Kenney Avenue.
Firefighters responded to a home at 119 Keeney Ave. shortly after 10:30 p.m. and no injuries were reported.
According to the West Hartford Fire Department, crews found smoke and fire coming from the rear of the home. The fire department said, “two 1 3/4 lines were stretched, and firefighters quickly extinguished the fire, limiting damage primarily to the rear of the building, with minor extension into the home.”
The occupants were able to leave the home before first responders arrived. Mutual aid was provided by UConn Fire, New Britain Fire Department and Newington Fire Department. Firefighters said AMR provided medical coverage.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the West Hartford Fire Marshal’s Office, but does not appear to be suspicious, according to the West Hartford Fire Department.
