A Connecticut teen died tragically on Christmas Day and now the community is trying to help his family.
A GoFundMe is 66% towards its $16,000 goal to help support funeral and memorial costs for the family of Malachi James, who passed away after a car accident on Christmas night in Hartford.
“On Christmas Day, our lives were forever changed by the sudden and tragic loss of Malachi James in a car accident that took place in Hartford, CT,” according to the GoFundMe.
“A day meant for love, joy, and celebration became a day of unimaginable heartbreak. There are no words that can fully express the pain our family is experiencing.”
The GoFundMe has already raised more than $10,000 of their $16,000 goal, according to the posting.

“Malachi was deeply loved and brought light, laughter, and meaning to everyone who knew him,” according to the GoFundMe.
“His life was taken far too soon, and our hearts are shattered trying to understand a world without him. To know him was to love him. He was a shining light everywhere he went. As we grieve this devastating loss, we are also faced with unexpected expenses and the overwhelming reality of laying our beloved Malachi to rest.”

“This GoFundMe has been created to help support his family with funeral and memorial costs, as well as to ease the financial burden during this incredibly painful time,” the GoFundMe went on to say. “Any donation, no matter the amount, is a blessing.
