A 15-year-old boy was shot to death inside a Bronx public housing complex and a second teen was wounded Saturday night, police said.
Eric Aitken was shot in the chest inside a building in NYCHA’s Eastchester Gardens on Adee Ave. near Pearsall Ave. in Laconia about 6:25 p.m., cops said.
Eric had gathered there with a a large group of teens when shots rang out, sending everyone fleeing, police said. He lives in Waterbury, Conn., according to cops.
Building resident Leon Stafford told ABC 7 New York the shooting happened just outside his door.
“I was just in my room doing my studying and I heard a ‘bang, bang, bang’ three times,” he said. “When I ran to the door, I seen three people running downstairs near the staircase and then I saw an individual holding my doorknob so I pushed him out the way.”
A 14-year-old boy was shot in the left arm. Police found him about four blocks away on Laconia Ave.
Cops are looking for six male suspects, four of them dressed all in black, the fifth in a gray sweatsuit and black vest and the last in a navy blue hoodie with gray sweatpants. No arrests have been made.
Medics rushed Eric to Jacobi Medical Center but he couldn’t be saved. Cops took the younger boy in a marked police vehicle to the same hospital, where he was in stable condition.
