Police are investigating after a gun was fired inside the Trumbull Mall late Friday afternoon during a dispute.
Numerous 911 calls were received around 5:45 p.m. reporting hearing a gunshot at the mall, according to the Trumbull Police Department.
Police believe several teenagers, who were all known to each other, got into an argument while walking through the shopping center outside the Macy’s store on the upper level. One of the teens allegedly displayed a handgun and fired at least one shot, police said.
No injuries were reported, according to police.
Police said traffic exiting the mall, which was scheduled to close at 6 p.m., was delayed while officers searched for the suspects.
Police believe the suspects were able to quickly escape from the shopping mall. No arrests have been made so far, according to police.
Police said they were assisted by officers from the Bridgeport, Fairfield, and Monroe Police Departments.
The incident remains under investigation, according to police. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Trumbull Police Department at 203-261-3665, ext. 0.
