As Connecticut is left digging out from Winter Storm Abraham, state police said they are continuing to respond to service calls.

Troopers responded to 614 calls for service, 71 crashes without injuries and four with injuries between 6 p.m. on Friday night to 6 a.m. on Saturday, according to the Connecticut State Police.

“The Connecticut State Police continue to actively respond to calls for service as winter weather conditions impact communities across the state,” Connecticut State Police said in a statement. “Our highest priority remains the safety of the public and our troopers. We are working closely with local public safety partners, emergency management, and road crews to address hazardous conditions as efficiently and safely as possible.”

Heavy snow and slick conditions overnight left roads dangerous, according to state police. In Waterbury, a 15-car pileup Friday night left two people hospitalized.

Troopers say they are encouraging residents to limit travel unless necessary and use caution when driving, as roads remain slick.
