Police are investigating after a woman was found dead behind a building in New London on Tuesday.
Officers responded to the rear of 393 Williams St. at 9:16 a.m. on the report of an unresponsive person on the ground, according to Brian Wright, chief of the New London Police Department.
An unconscious and unresponsive woman was found by police and medics, Wright said. She was pronounced dead at the scene and identified as 56-year-old Kelly Anne Lewis, whose last known address was in Waterford, according to Wright.
The death remains under investigation. No other information was immediately released.
