A pedestrian has died after being struck by a vehicle in Waterbury on Monday night.
Police responded to reports of the crash in the area of 581 Chase Ave. shortly before 10:50 p.m., according to Sgt. Joseph Morais of the Waterbury Police Department.
The pedestrian, a 36-year-old man, suffered serious head injuries, Morais said. He was taken to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, according to Morais. The victim’s identity was not immediately released.
The driver who was involved stayed at the scene, Morais said. The crash remains under investigation by the police department’s Crash Reconstruction Unit.
