A Bridgeport man has been convicted on murder and assault charges in connection with a double shooting where a man was shot multiple times and a woman was fatally struck in the head in 2024.

A Superior Court jury in Bridgeport found Terence Gallimore, 35, guilty of murder, first-degree assault and criminal possession of a firearm on Dec. 16, according to a statement from the Connecticut Division of Criminal Justice.

Following the eight-day trial, the jury deliberated for just over two hours before convicting Gallimore in the death of 28-year-old Brandaja Winston and the assault of 30-year-old Davon Taylor, both of Bridgeport, the DCJ said.

According to court records, the shooting occurred near the intersection of Stratford and Caroll Avenues in Bridgeport during the early morning hours on Aug. 17, 2024.

Court records show that an unidentified man, armed with 9mm handgun, and Gallimore, armed with an AK-47-style rifle, “opened fire on a small group of people standing on the sidewalk.”

Winston was shot in the head and pronounced dead at the scene, according to court records. Taylor was hit multiple times and was transported to Bridgeport Hospital.

Bridgeport officers reportedly found 17 shell casings at the scene, court records show. Investigators believe neither victim was the intended target.

According to the DCJ, the unidentified shooter remains at large, and the investigation remains open.

“We are fortunate to have talented prosecutors, paraprofessionals, and investigators to try the cases prepared by the dedicated personnel of the Bridgeport Police Department Homicide Squad,” Bridgeport State’s Attorney Joseph T. Corradino said in a statement. “The people of this city need to know that we will not tolerate gun violence and will diligently pursue those who make their homes and families unsafe and senselessly take the lives of others.”

Gallimore, who is scheduled to be sentenced by Judge Kevin C. Doyle on Feb. 23, 2026 in Bridgeport Superior Court, faces up to 90 years in prison.
