Police are investigating a shooting near a housing complex in Bristol on Sunday that landed a man in the hospital.

Patrol officers responded to a home on Vance Drive at 2:21 p.m. on the report of shots fired and found a gunshot victim suffering from non-life-threatening injuries, according to Capt. Michael Duval of the Bristol Police Department.

The man was taken to a hospital where he was treated for his injuries, Duval said.

The Bristol Police Criminal Investigations Division responded to the scene and has taken over the investigation.

“This appears to be an isolated incident with no threat to the general public,” Duval said in a statement.

Duval on Monday said no arrests have been made.

“It’s still actively being investigated,” he said.

The shooting was reported near Bonnie Acres, an affordable housing complex managed by the Bristol Housing Authority.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Det. Scott Werner at 860-314-4577.
