Police are investigating after a fight broke out at a Chipotle in West Hartford over the weekend when a customer appeared to attack an employee.
A video circulating on social media, which indicates the incident happened on Saturday, shows what appears to be a customer throwing something at an employee behind the counter as a number of other customers look on. Two customers then can be seen moving around the counter and into the employee area where they start attacking different workers, the video shows.
They appear to throw several punches at the employees, according to the video. One of them had to be restrained by other workers as he continued to throw punches, the video shows.

The other customer then appears to become entangled with a worker as the two grab at each other’s hair, the video shows. A second worker is seen trying to separate the pair.
The video cuts off a few seconds after what appears to show a Chipotle employee try to punch the woman grabbing her hair.

A spokesperson for Chipotle said police are investigating the incident.
“At Chipotle, the health and safety of our employees and our guests is our highest priority,” Laurie Schalow, chief corporate affairs officer for Chipotle, said in a statement. “We have zero tolerance for guests who mistreat our employees and fail to give them the respect they deserve.
“We are working cooperatively with local law enforcement to support them in their investigation of this incident,” Schalow added.
A spokesperson for the West Hartford Police Department did not immediately respond to a request for comment seeking details of the investigation and whether any arrests have been made.
