The Hand football team won its 15th state title and broke Killingly’s 25-game win streak, with a 37-13 victory in the Class SS state championship game on Saturday morning at Veterans Stadium in New Britain.

Lucca Boyce and Diego Portley each had two touchdowns for second-seeded Hand (12-1), which led 10-7 at halftime. Killingly (12-1) went ahead on 5-yard run by Hayden Allard, 13-10 but that was the last time the Trailblazers would score.

Boyce had 24 carries for 177 yards.

Boyce had his second touchdown on a 5-yard run to put Hand up and senior lineman Tim O’Malley extended Hand’s lead with an 20-yard interception return late in the third quarter and Portley scored twice in the fourth quarter.
