With a goal of “spreading holiday cheer in a truly special way” this month, staff at Hartford HealthCare created and released “a heart-felt video.”
It was created by “colleagues for colleagues and all health care workers across the state,” according to a Hartford HealthCare spokesperson.
“The centerpiece of this year’s celebration is a remarkable performance by an all-colleague ensemble, showcasing the incredible talent, compassion, and spirit that define the calling of healthcare,” the spokesperson said.
The intent of the holiday video is to show “the essence of the season while honoring the people who dedicate their lives to caring for others.”
“Healthcare is a calling- it’s more than a job and this video captures that essence beautifully,” said Jeff Flaks, president and CEO of Hartford HealthCare, in a statement. “This video is a powerful reminder that our strength lies in our people— their talent, their heart, and their unwavering commitment to caring for others. We have the best people, and they are what makes Hartford HealthCare exceptional.”
It included harmonies and “joyful collaboration,” intending to be “more than entertainment” but also “a tribute to the strength, unity, and purpose that drive healthcare professionals every day.”
“We wanted this spot to feature the real people of our organization. It’s an authentic celebration, powered entirely by the talent of the incredible folks we work with,” said Nick Dethlefsen, Director of Visual Content Strategy, in a statement.
“This holiday tribute honors healthcare at its most moving moments. Yet it does so with the incredible behind-the-scenes talent that make it all possible. It is a privilege to film and create with Hartford Healthcare’s entire team,” said Jeffrey B. Teitler, documentarian and professor, Central Connecticut State University, also in a statement.
The video was made by Hartford HealthCare staff, with support from community partners, and is intended to be part of Hartford HealthCare’s “ongoing commitment to recognizing and celebrating its workforce in meaningful ways.”

It also spotlights staff talents and voices, which is intended to reinforce the “dedication to fostering connection and joy—even in the busiest time of year.”
“This video beautifully brings to life the compassion, resilience, and humanity that our colleagues bring to every patient interaction,” said Rebecca Stewart, vice president of Content Strategy. “Our creative team and partners capture the essence of what it means to work in healthcare. In this short video, our creative team highlights the depth of human resilience and showcases the true impact of care. This is a piece designed to say thank you to all who work in the field of health care.”
