A Waterbury man is facing larceny charges for allegedly stealing the same car in the city during a two-week span.

On Nov. 23, a 2015 Honda Civic was reported stolen in Waterbury, according to a report from the Waterbury Police Department.

Police said Waterbury resident Aaron Rodriguez De Los Santos, 26, had allegedly followed the victim home. As she exited the vehicle, police said Rodriguez De Los Santos allegedly pushed her, took the key fob and stole her vehicle.

Waterbury Police later recovered the Honda Civic. However, police said Rodriguez De Los Santos allegedly retained possession of the vehicle’s key fob and allegedly stole the vehicle again on Dec. 3.

About an hour later after the car was stolen on Dec. 3, Waterbury Police Department’s Auto Theft Task Force observed the stolen 2015 Honda Civic parked at Irving Gas Station, located at 1405 West Main St. in Waterbury.

Rodriguez De Los Santos was taken into custody without incident. During the investigation, police allegedly seized fentanyl and crack cocaine, according to police.

Rodriguez De Los Santos is charged with larceny of a motor vehicle and possession of narcotics with intent to sell. There are pending charges for the original incident that occurred on Nov. 23.
