West Hartford police have made an arrest in a shots fired incident that damaged an unoccupied vehicle back in February, officials said.
Jaecob Gonzalez, 27, of New Britain, has been arrested and charged with unlawful discharge of a firearm, criminal possession of a firearm, criminal use of a weapon, weapons in a motor vehicle, first-degree reckless endangerment, first-degree criminal mischief, and second-degree breach of peace, according to the West Hartford Police Department.
Officers responded to a report of shots fired in the area of 134 Park Road at approximately 12:41 a.m. on Feb. 17, police said. Officers first on scene reported finding evidence of gunshots with damage to an unoccupied vehicle. There were no victims reported at the time the incident was reported, police said.
West Hartford Police Department detectives said they began a follow-up investigation, pursuing leads in the months following the shooting. On Dec. 2, an arrest warrant was sought, charging Gonzalez with multiple criminal offenses. Police say Gonzalez is currently incarcerated on unrelated charges.
