Two apartments in Meriden were left uninhabitable after a tree fell down and caused a partial collapse on Tuesday evening during a storm that brought a wintry mix of snow and ice to the state.

The tree came down between residences at 67 and 69 Woodland Ridge, according to Lt. Darrin McKay of the Meriden Police Department.

McKay said the limbs and branches from the large tree caused a partial collapse and damaged two apartment units. Both units were deemed uninhabitable by the Meriden Building Inspector, according to McKay.

No injuries were reported.

One person is receiving assistance from the American Red Cross, McKay said.
