An 18-year-old allegedly gave troopers two fake IDs after he was clocked going nearly 130 mph on Route 6 in Mansfield before crashing into another vehicle, state police said.

Elliott Reid Galovich of East Hampton was allegedly clocked on radar going 127 mph as he headed east on Route 6 in a 65 mph zone just before 8:35 p.m. last Thursday, according to Connecticut State Police.

As a trooper pulled out of the shoulder and flipped on their lights and siren, they noticed a cloud of dust and found traffic cones scattered in the road and a driver whose vehicle had been rear ended, state police said. The driver of the vehicle that had been struck, an elderly woman, told police the motorist who hit her was now pulled over in the shoulder. State police allege that driver was found to be the same one who had just been seen speeding.

Galovich allegedly gave troopers two fake IDs and was identified after he handed over his actual identification, according to state police. He was arrested on charges of reckless driving, failure to drive in the proper lane, possession of a cannabis plant more than five ounces, possession of alcohol by a minor on a public street or highway, second-degree forgery and second-degree reckless endangerment.

It was not immediately clear if anyone was injured in the crash.

Galovich posted a $10,000 bond and is scheduled to face a judge on Dec. 8.
