Zohran Mamdani talks loud but I do not think he can actually build anything real or deliver results that survive contact with financial reality.
Big promises sound exciting. But reality is made of budgets. Permits. And state law. New York City does not control the MTA. Housing law is mainly controlled in Albany. And union and contract obligations are not flexible. They are expensive measured processes.
This is why I am skeptical. It is easy to say free buses or new public housing. It is much harder to legally execute that.
A mayor needs state lawmakers council members unions and credible funding streams. If Mamdani wants to prove he is serious he needs to produce a phased plan with measurable steps and real early wins. Slogans are not delivery.
