Who here enjoys a cabin getaway?

Texas Real Estate Source surveyed 3,003 respondents, asking them which part of the country they would most like to own a cabin,” according to a statement. Three locations from Connecticut made the list.

The first Nutmeg locale at 72nd overall was Candlewood lake in Western Connecticut, according to Texas Real Estate Source:

“Candlewood Lake, the state’s largest man-made lake, is surrounded by hills that blaze red and gold each autumn. Rustic cabins and lakefront cottages remain a staple of the market, used both as weekend retreats and full-time homes. With median values in surrounding towns  starting around $400K, the area balances natural beauty with relative affordability for western Connecticut.”

Litchfield Hills in Northwest Connecticut was next at 113rd, according to the survey. Quiet Corner in Windham and Tolland counties rounded out the state’s representation in 124th overall.

What destination took the top spot? The honor went to Estes Park at Rocky Mountain Gateway in Colorado, according to Texas Real Estate Source.
