CT raid nets three arrests, turns up fentanyl, crack cocaine and molly, police say

Three people were arrested on narcotics charges after authorities carried out a raid in New London on Wednesday and reported finding crack cocaine, fentanyl and ecstasy.

The raid was carried out around 7:15 p.m. on Truman Street, according to Brian M. Wright, chief of the New London Police Department.

Wright said the search and seizure warrant was conducted by narcotics investigators with his department as well as the Connecticut State Police Statewide Narcotics Task Force-East. Authorities allegedly found 26.13 grams of crack cocaine, 8.34 grams of fentanyl, 6.98 grams of methamphetamine — which is commonly referred to as ecstasy or molly — and $691, as well as scales, cutting agents and materials commonly used to package narcotics.

Headley Thomas, 36, of Hartford was arrested following the search and charged with operation of a drug factory and three counts each of possession of narcotics and possession of narcotics with intent to sell.

Dennis Newton, 36, of New London was also arrested and charged with operation of a drug factory and three counts each of possession of narcotics and possession of narcotics with intent to sell.

Belvon James, 36, of Hartford was charged with interfering with a search warrant and operation of a drug factory and three counts each of possession of narcotics and possession of narcotics with intent to sell.
