2 people hospitalized after car crashes into Boost Mobile store in Portland; A crash in Louisville’s Portland neighborhood sent a car through the front of a Boost Mobile store, causing significant damage. The incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon around 1:30 at the store located at the corner of 26th and Market Street.
Witnesses recounted the chaotic scene. One witness, who works across the street, described the aftermath: “We looked into the window to see if people were inside the shop, the Boost Mobile. The dude was fine. We asked him if he wanted us to break the window or something so he could come out. He said, ‘no, we’re fine.’ It’s crazy, I mean, that’s how it is in the hood, you know. Crazy stuff happens. We get used to this.”
According to the Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD), the driver appeared to lose control for an unknown reason before striking the building. Both the driver and a passenger were taken to the hospital and are expected to survive. Remarkably, no one inside the Boost Mobile store was injured during the crash.
The incident highlights the unpredictable nature of accidents and the resilience of the local community. Despite the significant damage to the store and the shock of the event, the quick response and concern from witnesses and bystanders underscore the neighborhood’s sense of solidarity and readiness to help one another in times of crisis.
As the investigation continues, authorities will seek to determine the exact cause of the driver’s loss of control. Meanwhile, the Boost Mobile store will likely undergo repairs to address the extensive damage caused by the crash.
